Notes

sNa nam rGyal tshan lha snang is likely to be identified to the zhang rGyal tshan mentioned in ms. PT 1089 l. r72 (see Scherrer-Schaub 2007 p. 279-280, also Lalou 1956).

According to Xin Tangshu "Shang jie zan" (i. e. zhang rGyal tsan) died in 796, and his son Zhu zhi jian succeeded him (Pelliot 1961 p. 123).

sNa nam rGyal tshan lha snang is thus to be distinguished from the zhang rGyal tshan mentioned c. 708-710, before the btsan mo Khri bangs received the Chinese princess Mun shang (for Kim sheng ? ms. ITJ 1368 l. 15, see also Uebach 1997 p. 62).

According to later Tibetan historians, sNa nam rGyal tshan lha snang's son U ring btsan pa was murdered by the prince Mu tig btsan po (see among others Nyang ral p. 379).

According to lDe'u Jo sras, rNa nam rGyal tsha lta snang,
Shud pu Khri 'bring khong btsan, and lDe dman gung bzhir lde chung (= lDe sman lDe'u cung ?) were the three blon po of Mu ne brtsan (lDe'u Jo sras 1987 ed. p. 133, sNa nam rGyal mtshan lha snang, Shud pu Khri 'bring khong btsan, and lDe sman Gur bzher lde chung in mKhas pa lde'u 2010 ed. p. 339).
