An effigy of Thang lha ya bzhur is used in a ransom offering ritual by Myi rma bu mching rgyal (?) to save the lord Thang rje sum po (?) from the fiends Thang srin pyo pyo mo and 'Brog srin pyab ma (ms. ITJ 734 l. 7r306, 308)* 

Thang lha ya bzhur brings favorable omens (ms. ITJ 740 l. 22-25)** 

Thang lha ya bzhur is invoked to bear witness to the Khri 'dus srong's superiority over the mGar (PT 1287 l. 469)

According to mKhas pa lde'u 129na-129ba, Thang lha ya bzhur was a son of 'O de gung rgyal and Srin bza' sByar lcam ma (mKhas pa lde'u 2010 ed. p. 218)

In Dam can bstan srung gi rnam thar (XVIIth c., 2003ed. p. 276) gNyan chen thang lha (i. e. another name for Thang lha ya bzhur) is the son of 'O de gung rgyal and g.Yu bya gshog gcig  

 

Thang lha ya bzhur is subjugated by Padmasambhava in lHa 'dre bka' thang ch. 16 (bKa' thang sde lnga 2011 ed. p. 35-40)
