See also the reviser Ngang tshul in ms. PT 1452? (mentioned with the copyist Shi dze shing, and the revisers dPal gyi sgron ma and Tsyang legs 'dus)

*According to later historians, dPal gyi ngang tshul was the name of a spouse of Ral pa can : queen Cog ro bza' dPal gyi ngang tshul.
"Cog kru za dPal gyi ngang tshul" (e. g. queen Cog ro bza' dPal gyi ngang tshul) was, according to rBa bzhed (2010ed. p. 291), Cog ro klu'i rgyal mtshan's sister (sring mo). As a spouse of Khri gTsug lde brtsan, she was accused of having an affair with Bran ka dPal gyi yon tan after being slandered by dBa's rGyal to re stag snya, and commited suicide (see among others mKhas pa lDe'u 2010ed. p. 340-342, Nyang Nyi ma 'od zer 2010ed. p. 395-396, Klong chen 1991ed. p. 382-383, rGyal rabs gsal ba'i me long 2005ed. p. 233 ; transl. in Sørensen 1999 p. 425-426).
Ral pa can's murder may have been an act of revenge from Cog ro for the disgrace [and death] of the blon chen po Bran ka dPal gyi yon tan and the btsun mo Cog ro bza' dPal gyi ngang tshul ("...blon chen po bran ka dpal gyi yon tan dang / mnga' bdag gi btsun mo cog ro bza' dpal gyi ngang tshul skyon med pa la 'chad <chad> pa phab ste / bsad pa'i mi sha la cog ros mnga' bdag skrongs <skrongs/>" Ne'u pandita, 2005ed. p. 8).
Although they may have lived at the same time, nothing allows the identification of the reviser of Old Tibetan ms. to the queen of later histories. It might be worth mentioning, thought that officials of very high ranks may have been at time involved in editorial works (see in ms. PT 1452. "blon che zhus")

**dPal gyi ngang tshul (mentioned in Dotson 2013-2014 [2015], p. 40) and a contemporary of 'Gong bom Yul byin (ms. PT 1648).

Dre Ta tha ga tha received instructions [on performing phur bu ritual practice (directly from Padma Sam ba ba ?)] (ms. PT 44 l. 17.4-18.3 ).

'Bu na A na and dre Ta tha ga tha accomplished [phur bu ritual practice] in Brag dmar brag at the bSam yas cave, dre Ta tha ga tha, "struck fire" (ms. PT 44 l. 18.3-19.4 ).

Dre Ta tha ga tha was likely also a contemporary of Ba bor Be ro tsa, and/or [Kha?] rtse Nya na si ga (ms. PT 44 l. 16.5-17.4).

Notes

See Bischoff Hartman 1971 p. 23, Kapstein 2000 p. 158-159, Cantwell, Mayer 2008 p. 61-62.

* I haven't find so far the epithet "dre" ("mule"?) as a family name in other Old Tibetan ms.. Could it be some sort of nickname? Compare with other characters mentioned in ms. PT 44 : gnyan rNyi ba bTsan ba dpal (gnyan : wild sheep?), perhaps also ba bor Be ro tsa (middle persian babr : tiger)?

** Later documentation mentions a Nyang / Myang Ta tha ga tha which :

- may have been a disciple of Vimalamitra ("... paN chen bi mâ la'i slob ma nyang ting 'dzin bzang po / nyang ta thâ ga ta / nyang shes rab 'byung gnas sogs gsang sngags kyi grub pa ..." see Nyang ston khra tshang blo gros mchog gi rdo rje'i rnam thar, p. 216 in gSung 'bum, vol. 12 / Ngag dbang blo bzang rgya mtsho. - Beijing : krung go'i bod rig pa dpe skrun khang, 2009)

- is credited for the foundation of the Kha rag yul rje'i lha khang ("nyang ta thâ ga tas kha rag yul rje'i lha khang bzhengs /" Ne'u pandita 2005 ed. p. 27).
