Biographical data 

dBa' Ye shes dbang po was a disciple of the Indian mkhan po Bo de sva tva and the first [Tibetan] 
dge ba'i shes gnyen of bSam yas and 'Phrul snang (ms. ITJ 689 l. 2v4). 

After dBa' Ye shes dbang podBa' dPal dbyangs became dge ba'i shes gnyen of bSam yas and 'Phrul snang (ms. ITJ 689 l. 2v4).

According to dBa' bzhed, dBa' Ye shes dbang po was dBa' gSal snang's religious name (see dBa' gsal snang's dBa' bzhed 2010 ed. p. 33, transl in Wangdu, Diemberger, Sørensen 2000 p. 69). He seems to have died shortly before Khri Srong lde brtsan (d. Horse year [790? 802 ?] in dBa' bzhed) and was survived by a daughter named dBa' za (lady) sPyan ras gzig (dBa' bzhed 2010 ed. p. 49, transl in Wangdu, Diemberger, Sørensen 2000 p. 90-92).
