Biographical data 

Ngan lam sTag sgra klu khong's grand father was Ngan lam gSas slebs (inscr Zhol rdo ring l. n43). 

Ngan lam sTag sgra klu khong's father was Zla gong (inscr Zhol rdo ring l. n39, n66). 

Ngan lam sTag sgra klu khong's younger brother (gcung po) was Ngan lam rGyal mchog skyong (ms. PT 149 l. v3, see Van Schaik, Doney 2007 (2009)). 

After 'Bal sKyes bzang ldong tsab and Lang Myes zigs murdered Khri lDe gtsug brtsan and attempted to harm Khri Srong lde brtsan, they were denounced by Ngan lam sTag sgra klu khong (inscr. Zhol rdo ring l. s5-s21). 

Being in favour, Ngan lam sTag sgra klu khong was promoted to the post of nang blon (inscr Zhol rdo ring l. s24). 

Ngan lam sTag sgra klu khong led armies in the direction of Khar tsan and vassalised the 'A zha people who were under chinese rule (inscr Zhol rdo ring l. s25-s31). 

After the death of the Chinese lord (rgya rje) He'u 'gi wang te, his son Wang peng wang stopped paying tribute to the Tibetan emperor Khri Srong lde brtsan, and Ngan lam sTag sgra klu khong advised to attack Keng shi [the Chinese capital] (inscr. Zhol rdo ring l. s49-s55). 

Ngan lam sTag sgra klu khong and mChims rGyal zigs shu teng were chosen to lead the attack against Keng shi (inscr. Zhol rdo ring l. s56-s58). 

In Tiger year [762-763] zhang rGyal zigs, blon [Ngan lam] sTag sgra [klu khong], zhang sTong rtsan, zhang bTsan ba and others led a military campaign in China and conquered Keng shi (ms. Or 8212.187 l. 51-54, 81-85, inscr. Zhol rdo ring l. s53-s64). 

Ngan lam sTag sgra klu khong became blon chen (Great Minister) after mChims zhang rGyal zigs shu teng (ms. PT 1287 l. 114). 

After Ngan lam sTag sgra klu khong sNa nam zhang rGyal tshan lha snang became blon che (ms. PT 1287 l. 114-115).
