*Zhang Khri dog rje appears to have been in activity around the late VIIIth-early IXth centuries (ms. PT 1079 cannot be earlier than 794 according to Scherrer-Schaub 2007 p. 273) and is thus probably to distinguished from the anti-buddhist minister zhang sNa nam Khri thog rje 'thang la 'bar of the dBa' bzhed, whose death is mentioned in the early part of Khri Srong lde btsan's reign (dBa' bzhed 2010 ed. p. 9, transl. in Wangdu, Diemberger, Sørensen 2000 p. 35-37, see also sBa bzhed 2010ed. p. 69, rBa bzhed 2010ed. p. 265), just before that of blon sKyes bzang rgyal kong (d. 757).
