Biographical data 

The blon rGyal bzang 'dus kong was chab srid kyi blon po chen po at the time of the Sino-Tibetan peace treaty [821-822] (inscr. peace treaty l. n22).

blon rGyal bzang 'dus kong is without doubt the Bran ka rGyal bzang 'Dus kong mentioned by dPa' bo gtsug la 'phreng ba in the edict attributed to Khri lDe srong brtsan (Chos 'byung mkhas pa'i dga' ston 2003 ed. vol. I p. 412, see also Dotson 2009 p. 157, 160).

The name "rGyal bzang" also appears in a number of Old Tibetan ms. :

- in the winter of a Sheep year, blon rGyal bzang, zhang Legs sum brtsan, and zhang Legs bzang gathered the assembly of Kva chu khrom (ms. PT 1079 l. 4)

- a nang rje po blon rGyal bzang (ms. PT 1676?, PT 1880?, PT 1939) was a contemporary of a blon Gung bzher (ms. PT 1873)

- (probably another) rGyal bzang on ms PT 1146 and ms. PT 1169.
