Notes
See also [na]ng je po blon Mang bzher (ms. PT 1817, verso)?
See also the jo bo blon Mang bzher, to whom a letter is addressed by somebody named Phyi mtho (Or. 15000/33, Takeuchi doc. n°87)?
Interestingly, the name "Mang bzher legs po" (i.e. Mang bzher the good?) somehow mirrors the name of "'Chims Mang bzher ngan po" (i.e. 'Chims Mang bzher the bad ?) found in later documentation, see:
- 'Chims Mang bzher ngan po who was blon po for a few years, after 'Gar sTong btsan yul gzung, in the time of Mang srong mang btsan (mKhas pa lde'u 168na 2010 ed p. 283, lDe'u jo sras p. 118)
- Mar bzher ngan pa po, the first of the four mChims ministers (blon po bka' thang III, bKa' thang sde lnga 1997 p. 436-437).
See Lalou 1939-1961 doc. n° 1091.
*According to H. Richardson, PT 1091 may "concern the rising against the Tibetans at Sha-cu in about 797" (Richardson 1992 p. 5)
14/08/2022 update :
A councillor Mang bzhre (= Mang bzher) is also mentioned in the Khotanese ms. Or. 11252/3, dating from the second Tibetan occupation. It appears that the Tibetan officials is ordering the local merchants to send him wine (c. 792-c. 851, see Skjærvø 2004 p. 36)
