In pre-imperial Tibet, dBa's was an individual or a family serving the lord Zin brang of 'Ol/'O yul as blon po (minister, ms. PT 1286 l. 13, PT 1290 l. v6).
The dBa's family or clan also provided a number of blon chen (great ministers) in the VIIIth and IXth century.
According to the XIIIth c. chronicle attributed to Ne'u Pandita, dBas built the lha khang of Ding ri (Ne'u Pandita 2005 ed. p. 28).
